Black & white

Black and white presets with real channel mixing

Converting to monochrome by dropping saturation throws away the information that makes a black and white photograph work. A proper conversion decides how bright each colour becomes: how dark the sky goes, how skin separates from the background.

Every preset here floors saturation and then does its work in luminance per colour band. That's why a red jumper can read as near-black in one preset and mid-grey in another — the per-channel values are published on each page.
